Call to Stop Identity Theft
Since
February 2005, banks, Choicepoint, Bank of America, DSW Shoe Warehouse,
Cardsystems and other companies and agencies have disclosed that
they’ve lost the confidential financial information of over 53 million
Americans. Leading states like California and New Jersey have passed
laws to protect consumers.
Tell your legislators to support credit freeze legislation so that Georgians have the opportunity to protect themselves from identity theft. You can reach
your representative at 202-224-3121. If you don't know who your
representative is, that's OK. Just tell the operator your zip code, and
they will connect you.
Here's a message you can leave: “Hello,
my name is _________, and I live in _________. I am calling to urge
Representative _________ to protect Americans from identity theft and
oppose any legislation or amendment which would override important state-level identity
theft protections, such as the Security Freeze.”
Then, please report your call below so we can keep track of how many calls are made.
